My plan of documenting my goal of losing weight kind of lost it's...drive. The past few weeks have been busy. I've gone though some up and downs in my relationship, which I now have (finally), I have a job (18th is my first day), and the rest has just been little stuff I've committed to.
Now, I've still been working out but with all the going out I'm just breaking even. Which sucks and frustrates me to no end. Somewhere along the line I've gotten obsessed. I find out I have a job, a good paying one at that, and I'm concerned where the closest gym is and if I should go before or after work. In case any of you are wondering, I picked the gym in Fairview.
I will share this tidbit with you all. When I started everything months ago, my waist size was a 36-37, I was fitted for my dress yesterday and my waist is now a 29! This has now hardened my resolve. I'm not eating out anymore. I don't care how much Randy wants to go get some yuppy beer that only he drinks, I'm going to finish this.

So today is day two of my goal. So far so good. Yesterday I was hungrier than usual but I think it was because of boredom. My friend joined me on the trip there. I was told by the nice lady that works there that if I brought in my exercise ball she would show me some really great moves that I could do at home to help out with my problem areas. So I refused to give up my mile and I walked down main street carrying a giant ball. I didn't slip up on my eating habits, which I blew over the past weekend. So I made chicken breast for lunch and ate a bowl of cereal for dinner, that didn't hold me over so well and I ended up eating a cereal bar around 8 or 9. Snacking was worse than usual.
Today I ran 1.38 miles in under nine minutes, which is improving greatly even with sore and tired muscles. I'm trying a new recipe for dinner tonight, Orange crumbed chicken with roasted garlic potatoes. It should be entertaining to say the least. so barring any slip ups that occur this evening I'm doing well, as expected during the first week. Now can I maintain this for a month?
On the job front, I should be getting my certification soon and I'm tired of filling out paperwork. I just ordered transcripts from three different colleges so I can put them in my portfolio. This is such a long and tedious project.

1 month, 9 pounds
As many of you know, or more likely don't know I've been on a pretty big fitness kick for the past few months. While coaching track I tried to set a good example for the girls by running, lifting, and throwing with them. I would be at the school's gym for hours after I was done teaching. Inches started melting off and it was just one day when I realized that my pants didn't fit anymore. That was a good thing, and the best motivator I have going. The rub to this is that I've lost both gyms I belonged to when school ended. I'm a graduate and can get an Alumni pass but it won't do me any good living this far away, so I've been researching gyms and trying to find one that was right for me.
So my search led me to Curves. When I walked in my immediate thought was, "Oh, there is no way in hell that this is going to do anything for me." Yet I went back the next day to give it a chance and it seemed to fit me pretty well. I've still a ways to go before I get where I want to be and so I've decided to track my workouts using this. Starting today, since it is still early in the morning, accept the 30 day challenge and my goal is to lose 9 pounds. That is my ideal weight. I am also not alone in this, I have my friend joining me when she can. I'll be posting my days as I go, feel free to offer encouragement.

What a Sad Nation We've Become
So the past 47 minutes of my life has been spent watching "Are you smarter than a Fifth Grader" while waiting for Grey's Anatomy to start. Normally, I'm not alone so I would not be watching this sad, sad, show but my fellow TV watcher is at work and the closest thing I have to significant other is busy drinking with his his buddies.
So this show hurts my brain as I'm pretty sure it drove this Yale graduate up the wall. After the first few questions I'm pretty sure I've figured out this guy's game. He has been so smug he was acting so sarcastic throughout the entire episode. I mean, come on...Is the shoulder a ball and socket joint?! Gee, I don't know...I'm going to go with True. He was so bored, what an easy million dollars. I think they dumbed down the entire show since no one had made it this far yet. It isn't easy being a fifth grader, nor is it easy to teach the material.
Here is a reality check for America, our newspapers are written at an eighth grade level. Get over it. We are stupid.
Now to dumb myself down even more and watch my cheesy show about people sleeping with each other.
Go Grey's Anatomy!!!!

I'm Back
So after a hasty exit from myspace.com I found myself in a jam. More people than I thought used my blog as a way to keep track of the going ons of my life. This was both good and bad. Bad in the sense of a lot has gone on/still going on in the past month that many people don't know about. Most of those people I considered friends I now hold a deep resentment for, too busy to answer a phone or return a call. I'm still not ready to fully talk about what happened to me that Thursday three weeks ago or the problems it is still causing for me, and I can't even believe it has been that long. It probably would have helped if I hadn't drank a week of it away.
I digress, so I'm back to the blogging world.
I'm a college graduate now. I don't feel different, I look different though. Two months of a stressful hell will do that to you especially when you are working yourself to death. Running yourself into the ground just to avoid thinking about what you are going through, how to even deal with it. I did make it with the help of a precious few. I don't even know how I did make it. It is amazing what you can put yourself through when you just know you have to do it. I did lose a part of me sadly enough. I always thought that everyone was inherently good, I don't believe that for one minute anymore.
Well I'm back.
